I'm Micaela, but all my friends call me Micas. I'm a crafter, sewer and illustrator with a special love for the children's universe. All of MicasTricas' products are handmade by me, in a fun combination between artisanal work and new technologies. With my pieces, I really want to trigger the youngsters' curiosity and creativity. I like to explore with materials and techniques, in order to achieve playful objects that encourage the child's interaction. I'm mostly inspired by my own childhood memories, but also from Portuguese culture and iconography. One of the techniques that I'm more engaged into now is silkscreen over fabric. It is a very hands-on process that allows me explore this technique is many ways. MicasTricas started in 2010 as a way to pursuit my growing enthusiasm for crafts. I'm from Lisbon, Portugal, where I studied product and graphic design, and worked as an interior designer for some time. Micas Tricas is currently based in The Netherlands, in my lovely studio in Rotterdam.
